More Changes from Facebook!

Facebook recently announced that it is changing the News Feed formula…again. We’re sure you’re wondering how the changes will affect you this time. According to News Feed Ranking Product Manager, Chris Turitzin, “Page admins can expect a decrease in the distribution of their text status updates, but they may see some increases in engagement and distribution for other story types.” In plain English, this means that, when you now post a text-only status update, fewer people will see your post. But you just might get more interaction from other types of posts. What? A couple of months ago, text-only statuses were being seen much more often than those with images and links!

Apparently, this change will affect business pages but not personal profiles. And what is their reasoning behind this latest change? Facebook has said that a user will more often post status updates in response to friends’ text-only updates than they will in response to the same style of updates from business pages. So…all of you business page administrators out there…We want your opinions on this latest algorithm adjustment!
